I spotted a wonderful Morris Marina from 1973 in Newport, South Wales today.
Once a very common sight on the roads of Britain in the 1970’s and 80’s, the Marina was British Leyland’s answer to Ford’s immensley popular Cortina. Despite the Marina’s modern appearence (on its debut in 1971), its mechanics were derived from the Morris Minor.
In 1980 BL attempted to reheat the Marina with a facelift, renaming it the ‘Ital’, and the car staggered on for another few years.
